We import greenery from all over the world. For example, we previously told you about the products from Central America and Australia in a blog post. Both continents are far from home. But we also import a wide range of products closer to home, from Europe.
We offer a lot of products from Europe. This is because there are many different climates in Europe. This provides a wide range of products.
For example, in the period leading to Christmas, we import a lot of greenery from the north of Europe, like the Nobilis from Denmark, mosses from Poland and so on.
This month we want to focus more on products from southern Europe. We get lots of beautiful products from countries such as Italy, Spain and France, ideal for use in the wedding season, which would normally be starting now.
When you think of southern Europe, you immediately think of Eucalyptus. And that's right. We offer many different types of Eucalyptus from that area. From the well-known varieties such as Cinerea and Baby Blue to lesser-known varieties, with berry or without berry. There are many different types of Eucalyptus available.
The greenery grows on various trees and shrubs. These grow on stepped plateaus. The pickers are taken by car to the top of the hill and work their way down. The greens are collected in bales which are then put in the car. When it rains severely, it is dangerous to pick Eucalyptus. This is because the water flows from the plateaus like a waterfall.
Eucalyptus is a product that depends on the weather. If it is it too hot in southern Europe, there is a chance that the trees will burn.

Another well-known product from southern Europe is Pistache. The greens are one of our most popular green products in the range. This is because they have a long shelf life and gives a lot of volume.
The Pistache grows as a kind of weed in the south of Europe. The bushes grow in forests and along roads. The pickers go into the areas to pick the greens, and they are sorted by length to come towards us.
Our colleagues in Aalsmeer sort the Pistache. One part of the Pistachio is put in water. This is done to extend the shelflife even longer. Putting Pistache in water is hard work.

But there are many more products from southern Europe that we sell a lot in our webshop. What about products like Pittosporum, Olive, various herbs and Ruscus?
Many of the seasonal products also come from southern Europe, for example, the beautiful mimosa branches. The photos below show what Mimosa looks like in the wild. Magnificent!
In our webshop, you can easily and quickly see all products that are currently available. Have a look!
