Tell us something about yourself (age, relationship, place of residence, etc.)
This year I´ll be turning 40, so a new decade to look forward to. I live in Guatemala City, have a 12-year-old daughter and I'm currently single. Conscious of the importance of taking care of the environment, every action counts.
What are your hobbies (besides working hard at WBE)?
I have a small family, we are close so spending time with them and my friends is always a very nice activity. Enjoy a movie and when possible go outside the city, to different places we have in our country nearby, such as the beach; although with the pandemic this has been more difficult, so now there are more indoor activities.
What did you study?
Political Science, in Rafael Landivar University in Guatemala, but being life as it is, I never worked in that area; I have been in the flower business for more than 12 years now.
What did you do before you started working at WBE?
I worked for a company that produces greens; this time gave me the opportunity to know about the production side of this business.
In which department do you work at WBE?
Logistics for WBE International, Latin American branch
What does your average working day look like?
All activities related to coordinating the logistics of the products we purchase. See that the suppliers send their products in the corresponding shipping line/airline, also that the documentation and invoicing are done in time so the product can be received in destination. Reporting back to the Netherlands the confirmations or changes that need to be done in the orders.
What do you like most about your job?
That every day is different, which allows me to continue learning not only of the everyday activities but by being in contact with people that inspire you with their actions, putting their heart in what they do.
What do you like least about your job?
Working in the logistics department you have to deal with for example delays from shipping lines/airlines, this causes big problems for the complete supply chain and more often than not, the consequences keep going for various weeks, especially when it affects the supply for important holidays.
What is your favorite product? Why?
All products have different characteristics that make them beautiful, one that I like for its versatility is Aralia. I have seen it used in different ways, with only greens or combined with flowers and you can always see it stand out.
Do you have any ambitions within WBE?
Being part of WBE has marked my life in many positive ways, so I do aspire to continue to be in the team.
