It is time again to give a look behind the scenes at WBE.
After the previous interview with the founders of WBE, it is now time for the current management: Peter and Jacqueline. First, the interview with Jacqueline.
While Peter is present at the office every day to support purchasing & sales, Jacqueline mainly focuses on sponsorships, administrative matters and important moments.

Still, if we ask colleagues, Jacqueline is the big boss!
In the interview, Jacqueline tells more about her work, her vision for WBE and more.

Tell us about yourself (age, relationship, place of residence, etc.)
I am Jacqueline Beets, daughter of the founders of WBE Jaap and Ineke Beets, I am 54 years old, married 10 years ago with Peter Baak and we have 3 children, Carmen aged 22, Mikki aged 19 and Jesper aged 17. Already 15 years ago we moved from the Westland to the beautiful Maasland and we live there with great pleasure.
What are your hobbies (besides the hard work at WBE)?
My hobbies are mainly traveling, which started with all countries from where WBE imports their greenery and slowly expanded to other countries, but the bucket list is still very long!
I also like to read and have many animals at home that I spend a lot of time with and 3 difficult children 😉.
What did you study?
After HAVO I did the secondary Hotelschool de Rooi Pannen in Tilburg, because that seemed like a very nice training and it was, but it all went a bit differently…
What did you do before you started working at WBE?
Of course, I grew up with WBE, as a child I used to go to the auction every Saturday when it was still open and on Mother's Day I was standard 'sick' at school, but in the meantime I was at work, which I did not mind at all, because there was always a very nice atmosphere in these busy days.
Nevertheless, I wanted to follow a nice education, I completed the hotel school and immediately afterwards I worked in a restaurant in France for six months. When we came back after the season I was out of work and WBE was growing, so I started at WBE and never left.
What does your average working day look like?
I don't work that much anymore since the children arrived; I'm at the business 3 mornings a week and otherwise I take care of everything at home.
I don't work a lot anymore since the children were born, I am at the office 3 mornings a week and the rest I take care of at home
At work, I actually pick up everything that comes my way, from insurance to organizing parties for anniversaries to cleaning the kitchen to other interference.
What do you like best about your job?
The best part is that no two days are the same and of course I have the best activities under my care!
What do you like least about your job?
Nothing at all!
What is your favorite product? Why?
That is (and remains) beargrass, because it jumps so nicely in a bouquet, only the green ones, not the dyed ones! But I really like Cinerea as well, because it smells so good.
Do you still have ambitions for WBE?
Not so much myself, I hope it remains a family business, that would, of course, be the best thing, that keeps it a bit more personal, so hopefully the children have a lot of ambitions for the future!
