Early in the morning, when most people are still asleep, our colleague Jasper drives into the sunrise in the WBE truck. On a daily basis, he ensures that the products are transported from branch to branch.
And not only during his working hours, Jasper drives the truck. We also see him waving behind the wheel during the annual Katwijkbinse truck run.

Tell us about yourself (age, relationship, place of residence, etc.) 

My name is Jasper de Leeuw, I am 30 years old and I come from Rijnsburg. Nowadays I live in Valkenburg (Z-H) with Manon and our 3 sons, Daan of 10 years, Mike of 7 years and Rens of 3 years old.

What are your hobbies (besides the hard work at wbe)?

My hobbies are football and I don't say no to a game on the PlayStation. I also enjoy just driving around in the car. Listening to music is also a big hobby of mine. 

What did you study? 

I studied VMBO, then I did 1 year of MBO, but I quickly found out that the security training was not my thing.

What did you do before you started working at WBE? 

Before I came to work at WBE, I worked at various nurseries. I went through the defense inspection, but then there were many cutbacks. This is why I eventually started working at WBE.

In which department do you work at WBE?

I am a truck driver in the logistics department. 

At which branch do you work?

I actually work at all branches, the main branch is jupiter.

What does your average working day look like? 

My day starts at Rijnsburg, where I get on the truck around a quarter past four, and then drive towards Jupiter around four-thirty. From Jupiter, we drive the products to the branches and we take the returning products back with us. 

It is also possible that I first drive to our branch in Aalsmeer, when a truckload of Pistache is ready there. I also take products with me when they are ready at Rijnsburg to Jupiter for the other branches. 

What do you like best about your job? 

What I like most is the driving, the beautiful views and sky in the morning are never boring. Also that I visit all branches and therefore have contact with most people within WBE.

What do you like least about your job? 

Getting up early though. I also don't like the bad communication between branches and logistics, which means that products don't go with me on the truck. I can get annoyed by that sometimes.

What is your favorite product? Why? 

Aralia, I think that is a nice firm leaf and when it is wet it shines beautifully. It also looks beautiful in a bouquet. I also like Cinerea, the scent is never boring! So actually 2 products.

Do you have any ambitions within WBE? 

Not at the moment, I'm fine now. But never say never! Something can always come my way that appeals to me.
