Populus berry: The beginning of a new era

Eucalyptus Populifolia, also known as Populus, is a versatile product. 

Indeed, not only can you enjoy the soft-gray, round leaves with subtle minty scent, but there is also a period when you can fully enjoy the same leaves, but with berries. 

The beautiful Populus leaf, but filled with small berries. It is as if Populus Berry is the beginning of the autumn season, because when this product is sold again, it is often not long before the other autumn products appear in our webshop.

Behind the scenes

There are over 600 different varieties of Eucalyptus. Populus is a well-known eucalyptus variety that is popular as decoration green. There are several types of Populus available on the market.

The "normal" Populus has grayish-tinged leaves of various sizes. The leaves are waxy to the touch. Populus is a good filler in a bouquet. We have the Populus available in two varieties. We have the normal leaf and the Populus berry. In the Populus berry, as the name suggests, there are berries between the leaves. These berries give a playful effect to the greenery. 

The Eucalyptus Populifolia produces berries every other year. Fortunately, our suppliers have many trees. So we never miss out in season. 

We import the beautiful Populus Berry weekly from Italy and France.

There, the trees from which the cut greens come grow wild. The cut greens are cut by hand from the trees and then sorted, ready to come our way.

Green or red?

In addition to the green Populus Berry, toward the end of the year we also offer red Populus Berry. 

The populus branches are raised red. This is a process in which the product is placed in a liquid containing dye after it is cut. This dye is then absorbed by the vascular tissue of the plant and colors the leaf.
