The basics for this Christmas - Nobilis

The time of year is here again! The smell of Christmas greenery meets you as you head toward WBE. Wherever you look, you see the most beautiful Christmas products passing by. Nobilis

One of the most popular Christmas greens is Nobilis. The pine green is used for such things as Christmas arrangements, wreaths, bouquets and other decorations. Nobilis can be recognized by its soft, blue-green needles that have a wonderful fragrance. 

Besides the fact that we offer the Nobilis as individual branches, the greenery is also often used in wreaths and handmade trees. You can find all variations with the Nobilis in our webshop.  

Behind the scenes

We import the Nobilis, this time of year weekly, from Denmark. With the supplier here we have had a good relationship for many years. In Denmark the Christmas branches grow high on the trees. The trees can be up to 30/35 years old and 25 meters tall. These trees are part of a broader program and eventually go into the timber industry.

Some Nobilis is also cut from lower trees. This green is generally a bit softer than the branches that are cut high.

Our supplier goes into the trees with an aerial work platform. The views from this aerial platform are amazing! He cuts the branches to different lengths. The branches are sorted and then packed into 5 kg bundles. The bundles are then packed on pallets, ready to come our way.

Fortunately for us, colleague Gerard visits the supplier in Denmark every year. This allows us to share some great photos of the behind-the-scenes process at the Nobilis.
