Brightly colored branches with a soft sweet scent, the time for Mimosa Mirandol has started. We import the branches full of yellow flowers every week. The Mimosa branches are an indispensable part of our range. But did you know that the branches are known by several names? Mimosa, herb-don't-stir-me (a dutch name) or Acacia.

Time to dive into the story of the yellow blossom branches!

Mimosa, Herb-stir-me-not or Acacia?

The branches are known to us as Mimosa. But we do understand the confusion!

The official name is Mimosa. The Herb-stir-me-not, which you often hear in the Netherlands, is a kind of Mimosa, but not the recognizable yellow one. This species has a purple flower. The flower we call Mimosa has the Latin name Acacia. Again, there are different types here. Examples are Clair de Lune, Floribunda, Mirandol. All with fine, yellow flowers.

Viva la France!

We import the famous Mimosa with the yellow flower largely from France. But we import the many other varieties from Italy. Think of Mimosa Baileyana purpurea, Mimosa Luna Argento, Mimosa Denisbode and Mimosa Floribunda. All can be found in our webshop

As long as the season allows, we receive a load of the cheerful product every week.

Mimosa grows on large trees. When you are in France in the right season you can enjoy views full of yellow colored clouds. Beautiful to see!

Mimosa is a seasonal product, did you know that the blossom symbolizes the light of spring? This is partly because Mimosa is one of the first spring bloomers.

When the time comes, the branches are cut, bundled, cleaned and put on water, ready to come our way.

Did you know.

Did you know that in the perfume city of Grasse (Southern France) a real Mimosa festival is organized every year in honor of the Mimosa harvest.

Get started!

On its own in a number of small vases, combined in a cheerful bouquet or in a different way. Mimosa is a popular product this time of year!

Have you combined the Mimosa Mirandol into a bouquet? Then please forward this to us. We are very curious!
