Green is the basis, not only at WBE! In the coming weeks, the students of Lentiz MBO Westland will also make greenery the basis of their bouquet or arrangement. Because they will be working on an amazing project, for which, among others, WBE may be the sponsor.

Thanks to a collaboration between Lentiz MBO, Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, 4-attention, Javadoplant, Van Duyvenvoorde Flowers & Plants and WBE, each year the students of Flower & Design turn their inspiration into unique floral arrangements.

This year, students take inspiration from the Rijksmuseum's Clara and Undercrawlers exhibit. From squirmy ants, furry spiders and colorful butterflies in Undercrawlers to the famous rhinoceros Clara, the Rijksmuseum is teeming with animals! In more than 200 objects, you'll see how artists and scientists marvel at animals. And so do the students of the Lentiz.

During this project, students do everything themselves: from purchasing, care, and execution to their final presentation.

WBE feels it is important to sponsor the students during this project. This way the students will be introduced to the versatile assortment of foliage and to WBE.

The project is divided into two assignments. In which the first assignment is Baroque floral work. Inspired by the Baroque era with its theatrical light-dark contrasts, students create floral still-life arrangements. The exhibition of these will take place next week on Feb. 8.

The second assignment is the Rijksmuseum project. In which students present their work and justify their choices. The works will be exhibited on March 8.

Both presentation times can be viewed at the World Horti Center, Europa 1 in Naaldwijk. Visiting times are as follows:

February 8 - Baroque work: 10:00-12:00 and from 18:00 - 20:00

March 8 - The Rijksmuseum Project: 10:00 - 12:00 a.m.

We are extremely curious to see the final works and in what ways the foliage was incorporated into the projects!
